Design Checks

Design Checks are the limit state calculations for your connection assembly. Passing these design checks is critical to the performance of the overall structure given the important role of connections between members.

The design checks that are relevant to your connection assembly will be dependent on the design code that you are adhering to. For example, for AISC 360, limit states are set out by the AISC. Examples of common limit states include bolt shear, bearing at bolt holes, and flexure of connection materials.

After editing your connection assembly to the desired specification, you can perform a design check by clicking the ‘Check Design’ button.
