Retaining Wall Calculation Verification – Reinforced Concrete Cantilever  – Metric

The data used in this verification example and the results to compare with SkyCiv Retaining Wall Design Software were from: The Reinforced Concrete Design Handbook, ACI SP-17(14), Vol. 2, p. 62. All the input data and results were converted to metric units using known conversion factors for the purpose of this verification.

Surcharge Load Value: -17.237 kN/m

Results

After creating the model in the SkyCiv Retaining Wall Software it was solved. The following table shows the results obtained using the software and the ones reported in The Reinforced Concrete Design Handbook. All the results were converted to metric units keeping in mind that the depth of the model is now 1 m and for the model in imperial units was 1 ft:
