The free version allows you to input frames with a maximum of 3 members with applied point loads and moments for 2D frame analysis. You can also control settings such as units, display settings of framing members and nodes etc. by simply clicking the ‘Settings’ button.

Frames are typically rigid end fixity members that generate a bending moment and shear force load within members. These frames have been simplified into 2D but are also restrained in the Z direction to prevent any stability issues during the static linear analysis. Note: we also include a free truss calculator if you need truss (pinned) members for a truss structure.
