SkyCiv is excited to kick off 2020 on the right foot - announcing that we've partnered with Microsoft Teams to deliver a seamless integration between SkyCiv and Microsoft Teams. We believe structural engineering software should integrate with other platforms. This is an example of our commitment to help our users work smarter.
The new SkyCiv Microsoft Teams app, which is now available in the Microsoft App Store, lets you review the model (with an interactive renderer) as well as review comments and updates of your model in real time. This helps your team maintain a single model and a clear track of model changes and updates. You can also launch the model in S3D at any time by simply clicking "Open in S3D".
Microsoft Teams is a very powerful collaboration tool that suits the structural engineering work flow very well. I must admit, when I first looked at it I had my doubts (Microsoft can feel a little clunky at times) - but they've absolutely nailed it with this one. You can create channels for your different projects, chat with your team and even launch screen share. Everything is in one spot for your team, which makes managing projects and hitting deadlines a lot easier. It also integrates with some really great products such as Asana for todo lists.
Installing the plugin is simple. We're already on the app store, so simply search SkyCiv and you'll see our app. From there simply login and select the model you wish to include in your Team's tab. That's it! Your model will show with all comments and model revisions on the left. The app is available to all SkyCiv users, whether you're on a free or paid plan. New to SkyCiv? A note on Integrations
Integrations and file interoperability has never been a strength in structural analysis software. We're trying to fix this. We believe your structural analysis software should integrate and connect with your current workflows, to make structural engineering easier. We've already delivered on integrations with Revit, Excel, CAD via DXF and DWGs - and not planning to stop anytime soon.
