SkyCiv showcases for ASEC 2018 at the Adelaide Convention Centre
Team SkyCiv hopped on a plane to visit our neighbours in Adelaide recently for the Australasian Structural Engineering Conference (ASEC). ASEC 2018 brought together structural engineers from near and far for a conference that focused on the theme of “Engineering our Future”.
For SkyCiv, it was a chance to talk to the professionals who we love making software for. We had a number a questions ranging from wind loading, concrete design, and harmonic analysis. We met professional practicing structural engineers in both the government (state and local) and private practice spaces who shared some great insights into their workflow and job requirements.
Hosted at the Adelaide Convention Centre, 84 high quality papers were submitted and presented to over 300 engineering delegates. It was a great opportunity to stay abreast of the current landscape of structural engineering. A formal conference dinner was held on Thursday night, giving us a chance to mingle in a more casual setting.
This was our second time at ASEC, with the previous ASEC 2016 conference being in Brisbane with SkyCiv’s own Sam Carigliano giving a talk about SkyCiv’s humble beginnings. We truly enjoyed the experience, the people, the city, and we hope to see you at ASEC 2020.
