One of the exciting aspects of cloud based software such as SkyCiv is the continuous improvement that goes into the product. Στα παρασκήνια, we're constantly working on new features and improved experiences that become available the next time you log in. I'm proud to announce that the Eurotruss Library for MultiTruss sections is now integrated into the latest 1.0.1 incremental update for Section Builder. Full details of this update can be found in our changelog. Eurotruss is a global leader in the supply of aluminium truss systems. Event riggers love their products as a way to set up rigs quickly and easily in both indoor and outdoor environments. However as with all structures under load, uncertainty exists over their load carrying capability. Whilst Eurotruss does provide downloadable loading charts for most of their products, they only cover limited loading cases.
Φιγούρα 1: Loading cases covered in the loading charts provided by Eurotruss. Μόνο 5 cases are provided.
No two events are exactly alike, and event riggers are often called in to establish structures under highly varying scenarios. Will the structure cope under non-uniform distributed load? How about non-symmetric point loads? Or perhaps a combination of point and distributed loads? SkyCiv's new Eurotruss section library has an answer. The complete set of Multi Truss (FD/HD) products catalog has been imported into our Section Builder software. Together with SkyCiv Structural 3D ή Δέσμη, loading cases not represented in Eurotruss's loading charts can be accurately modelled for deflection and reactions at the anchor points. To validate the method, deflection values from Eurotruss's official loading charts were compared with SkyCiv's calculators. Ολα 5 loading cases were tested against the HD22 Ladder Truss, the FD33 Triangle Truss, and the FD34 Square Truss. The results were consistently within 3% tolerance of the loading chart tables published by Eurotruss and have been provided below for you to view. Please note that stress and buckling results may not be accurate due to variations in actual geometry. Material properties have been adjusted to accurately model self weight so it is important to not change these from their defaults. Please let me know if you have any questions, but this should hopefully save you time and peace of mind when designing your EuroTruss rigging systems.
