Guide To SkyCiv Anchor Patterns

The placement of anchors is critical in base plate design. Proper anchor positioning influences the connection’s rigidity, determining whether it behaves as a pinned or fixed support. For instance, base plates resisting moments typically position anchors outside the flanges.

Different loading scenarios create varying load distributions on anchors based on their locations. The table below shows the supported anchor patterns in SkyCiv Base Plate Design Software for each load combination. These patterns ensure anchors are placed in the “Anchor Tension Zone,” which is especially important when anchors are subjected to tension.
