Welcome to our November product updates! Following the major release of SkyCiv Structural 3D v7.0 last month, we’ve turned our focus to refining other modules. Our team has been making several improvements, from adding new features and enhancing performance to making some fixes to bring a better experience to all of our users.
Now let’s take a look at what’s new this month!
Base Plate Design Updates
Shear + Axial Loads Now Supported
You can now design base plates under axial and shear loads in SkyCiv Base Plate Design, using AISC/ACI and Eurocode standards. This gives you more flexibility to handle realistic load combinations and ensure your designs stay safe and code-compliant.

New Import and Export Buttons
We’ve added Import and Export options to the File dropdown, so you can now save your models as JSON files to your device or load them back in directly from the interface. It’s a small change that makes local file sharing and version control much simpler.

New Design Check Summary with Links
Reviewing your design checks also got easier. The summary table now includes links that take you straight to the relevant calculation, which means no more scrolling through the full report. We’ve also highlighted the governing check so you can spot it instantly. It’s a small update, but we hope it’ll make a big difference in how quickly you can review your results.

New Quick Design Calculators
AS 3600:2018 Concrete Column Calculator
SkyCiv Quick Design now includes an AS 3600:2018 Concrete Column tool for the design of rectangular and circular reinforced concrete columns.
The Australian Concrete Column Quick Design tool allows you to easily design both slender and non-slender columns supporting axial, moment, bending, shear, biaxial shear, and detailing checks. The detailed report includes interaction diagrams for each axis and detailed calculation tables to help you follow along and verify the design. You can view a sample report here.

Eurocode Pad Footing Calculator
Design Pad Footings quickly and easily to EN 1992-1-1 & EN 1997-1 with our new Eurocode Pad Footing Quick Design.
The Eurocode Pad Footing Quick Design includes geotechnical checks for bearing, overturning, and sliding, structural checks for shear and bending, and a variety of detailing checks to ensure overall footing compliance, with inbuilt support for the UK national annex.

Try the Eurocode Pad Footing tool out now, or view a sample report here to learn about the full range of checks available.
AISC Bolt Group Coefficient Calculator
Quickly calculate AISC bolt group coefficients under eccentric shear with our new AISC Bolt Group Coefficient Quick Design tool, fully aligned with AISC 360-22. It uses the Brandt approximation for the Instantaneous Center to give fast, reliable force distribution results. You can run calculations for square or rectangular patterns and get the C coefficient you need for both LRFD and ASD checks without the manual work.

More Updates
- Added a button to download all load combination results in Output menu after solving. This will speed up switching between Load Combinations when viewing their results.
- Merge any two selected nodes regardless of their distance apart. Previously it was only possible to merge nodes that were close together.

- Added American > Cold Formed Steel (MarinoWARE) > CR Channel, Stud & Track with DSM Factors.
- Added American > Cold Formed Steel (CEMCO) > Hat Furring Channel, Stud, Track & U-Channel with DSM Factors.
- Added British > Cold Formed Steel (Kingspan) > Cladding Rails, Multichannel and Roof Purlins.
- Eurocode 3 (EN 1993-1-1:2005) now supports multiple segments defined by Lcr for the Lateral Torsional Buckling check.
- Updated factored moments for toe and heel.
- Revised moment capacity calculations (R_n and A_s).
- Updated typical plan detail.
- Automated psi_g, psi_c, psi_s development length factors.
- Changed material property units from to ksf to psi.
- Added support for base plate design under concurrent axial and shear loads for the AISC/ACI and Eurocode design codes.
- Added Import and Export buttons in the File dropdown menu to allow downloading and uploading of JSON files.
- Added an additional base plate bearing check for Eurocode designs with shear.
- Added schematic diagram of horizontal seismic forces in results.
