Our April updates are live!
This month includes new features in SkyCiv Structural 3D, Section Builder, Base Plate and Load Generator!
Structural 3D
Open as New Model
Highlight part of your model and launch it into a new S3D model window! Simply select part of your model, right click and choose Open as New Model – carrying with it all materials, sections, geometry, loads and load combinations.

Model Presets
Users can now create presets for commonly used sections, materials, load combinations and other settings in S3D! These presets can be loaded when creating a new model to minimize manual data entry. Create your own preset by carrying out the following: File → Load Preset → Save as Preset

Area Load Variance Checks
Area load variance checks have been significantly improved:
- The variance check for area loads is now summarized by force in the 3 global axes (Fx, Fy, Fz) and by moment about the 3 global axes (Mx, My, Mz).
- The area load variance table now has a “Download Values” link for each area load to allow users to follow the variance calculations in greater detail.
- The area load variance table no longer updates all area loads automatically when opened. For models with more than 20 area loads, a button has been added to allow users to force the update of all area loads.
Export to Revit 2024 Support
Staying ahead of the curve — with Autodesk’s deprecation of the Revit 2023 engine on March 29, we’ve proactively upgraded our Export to Revit and IFC workflows to fully support Revit 2024 on the Autodesk Platform Services (Forge) Design Automation API. Your projects continue without interruption, running on the latest engine with improved compatibility and performance. No action needed on your end — we’ve got it covered.
Section Builder
EN Steel Release & CSA Update
Added 35 NEW Standards and 330 NEW Grades to our European Steel Materials Library

This release delivers a major expansion to our European Standards (EN) steel materials library, providing broader coverage and greater flexibility for projects using EN steel grades. We’ve also refreshed our Canadian Standards Association (CSA G40.21) steel material properties to better reflect current published values, helping improve consistency and accuracy.
Base Plate Design
AISC Base Plate with Strong-Axis Bending
We have released a new update for AISC base plates with strong-axis bending. This feature follows the design calculations from AISC DG1, 3rd Edition. Users can now design base plates for strong-axis bending with concurrent axial and shear loads. Try it now for I-shaped, rectangular, or circular hollow sections.

Load Generator
Version 6.2.0 adds several workflow upgrades to make load generation faster and easier to review. You can now download all detailed Wind, Snow, and Seismic PDFs in one step, work with smarter code-based default values, and visualize the structure data through the 3D renderer.
This release also improves the integrated Load Generator in S3D where exporting the design spectrum is now in the apply load section menu.
