Frohes neues Jahr wünscht das SkyCiv-Team! Wir hoffen, Sie hatten einen wunderschönen Urlaub mit Familie und Freunden!

Während viele ihre wohlverdiente Ruhe einlegten, some of our team members stayed busy working on new improvements for your return to the platform in the new year. From new calculators to expanded section libraries and design modules, we’ve lined up some practical updates for you to kickstart your projects in 2026.

Check out the updates below!

Section Builder Just Got Bigger

Our Section Builder module continues to grow. We’ve added Direct Strength Method (DSM) factors for hat sections, expanding design support for AISI S100-16 and AS/NZS 4600. New supported sections include:

  • amerikanisch (CEMCO, ClarkDietrich, SSMA)

  • australisch (Lysaght, Metroll, Stramit)

  • Neuseeland (Metallcraft)

This means an even more ready-to-go and accurate design for cold-formed steel users.

SkyCiv Quick Design Adds NZ Bolt Group Calculator

New Zealand engineers, this one’s for you. Our latest Quick Design calculator handles bolt group capacity in accordance with NZS 3404:1997, Scherabdeckung, Spannung, and bending actions. Choose from preset bolt geometries or define custom layouts, with support for both plastic and elastic analysis methods.
More NZ calculators for steel and concrete design are in development. Stay tuned!

More Flexibility in SkyCiv Base Plate Design

We’ve added new anchor layout options for RHS sections in both AISC and EN modules, giving you more design flexibility. Plus, our CSA module now supports combined shear and axial force design for base plates.

New Flange Plate Moment Connection in SkyCiv Connection Design

New connection is now available! SkyCiv Connection Design now supports flange plate moment connections between I-sections and HSS members designed to AISC 360-16, covering plate sizing, bolt design, Schweißnähte, and limit state checks.
